Seabourn Pursuit Casts Off On Inaugural Cruise
Seabourn Pursuit is Seabourn’s second purpose-built expedition ship recently welcomed its first passengers for an eight-day voyage to Civitavecchia (Rome).
The ship will be sailing five Mediterranean cruises before beginning its expedition-style sailings. Seabourn has offered expedition experiences for 10 years, but not they are taking those to the next level.
Following Seabourn Pursuit’s Mediterranean debut, the ship will head across to the Atlantic and through the Caribbean. On October 10 in Barbados, Seabourn Pursuit will begin its expedition journey to South America, the Amazon and Antarctica into late March 2024.Â
Following its South America voyage, the ship will head back to the South Pacific islands en route to Australia, where it will explore the Kimberley’s and Western Australia between June and August 2024.Â

Expedition Features And Gear
The Seabourn Pursuit is equipped with dedicated expedition features, including a PC6 ice resistant hull and other special hardware technology, making it ideal to sail in remote and polar regions.
The ship also carries two custom-built submarines, 24 zodiacs, eight sea kayaks, and a 26 person expert expedition team whose role is to engage guests throughout each voyage.
Duplex Suites
Offering guests the unique Grand Wintergarden Suites, the duplex staterooms are among the largest onboard the 264 guest ship, and feature over 90 square meters of area. In addition to floor to ceiling windows and private balconies, the suites also offer an ample living area, a walk-in closet and a spacious bathroom with a large bathtub and more.
Dining Venues
The Pursuit offers a great variety of dining venues and restaurants, keeping it in line with the other ships in the Seabourn fleet. A total of eight options are available onboard the ship, while on selected nights, The Colonnade (a casual venue that opens for every meal) offers a special menu signed by the Michelin-starred Chef Thomas Keller.Â
Discovery Center
The Discovery Center serves as a teaching and academic center for natural history and cultural programming onboard the Pursuit. Spacious enough to accommodate all guests at once, the venue offers lectures, briefings, and the Seabourn Conversations enrichment program. The room was designed by the landscapes of some of the expedition destinations.
