Award-Winning Viking Cruises
Travel + Leisure announced their 2023 World’s Best as voted by their readers today with Viking Cruises once again being named number 1 for Ocean Line ships with 300-799 cabins as well as one of the best river lines. Along with this achievement Viking’s newest exhibition ships also came out #1 in their first year of operation.
Conde Nast Traveler readers agree, voting Viking to the top of its categories for oceans, rivers, and expeditions. No other cruise line has ever received the same honours by both publications in the same year.
Upon winning the awards Torstein Hagen, the chairman of Viking said “We are a bit different at Viking, which is why our guests can always expect elegant small ships, with no children, no casinos and no nickel and diming. For more than 25 years we have been dedicated to creating experiences for thinking people. And, we are already searching for better. Onwards.”
Since 2020 Viking has launched 17 new ships to its fleet, including eight award-wining Viking Longships on the rivers of Europe, new vessels have also been added to the Mekong, Nile, and Mississippi rivers; plus ocean ships and two Polar Cladd expedition vessels.
It is not just Travel + Leisure and Conde Nast who love Viking, other new accolades for 2023 include “Best Cruise Line” by Food & Wine, “Best River Cruise line” by Women’s Health and “Best for Relaxation, Worldwide” by Men’s Health.
